Workers at Royal Bank of Scotland’s London headquarters were shocked when they were offered “roast aborigines” on a lunch menu at their canteen.
The menu suggested jacket potato fillings including “Roast Aborigines and Been [sic] Chilli” for £2.30.
One worker said: “I was not the only one who was surprised to see native Australians on the menu. It did not sound very tasty so I went for beef curry.”
A spokeswoman for Royal Bank of Scotland said: “It was actually roast aubergine. We have contacted the catering company to ask them to correct the spelling.”
